　　CIS teachers are passionate, committed and caring professionals, who nurture and guide each student in exploring their talents and fulfilling their dreams. Our teachers are qualified to teach the Canadian (Alberta) curriculum and have proven teaching and assessment practices. Through individualized learning methodologies, they are able to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners and promote a high level of student engagement. CIS employs highly qualified teachers, with an average of 8 years of experience from Canada and internationally.

　　We are proud to be the first Alberta Accredited International School (AAIS) in China (mainland). Alberta Education curriculum is the strongest curriculum in Canada and consistently ranks in the top 8 of all the countries in the world. It is a global recognized curriculum and our Canadian Diploma opens many doors for graduates.

　　CIS offers a holistic and student-focused approach to education where learning is valued, growth through diversity is encouraged, individual uniqueness respected and personal excellence is fostered by dedicated staff. Enriched programs, the latest technology and a supportive environment all contribute to the education of the whole student. Eventually, we aim to raise future leaders with eight core competencies that will equip them to be successful at school, at work and in life.

　　STEAM

　　CIS has invested in the state-of-the-art technology for our students to work and explore with. All students from Pre-K to Grade 12 will work within the IDEA Lab, building on design thinking and constructivism embedded within their daily curriculum. Our goal is to help students become confident learners and develop the skills that will help them become successful in our ever-changing world.

　　Athletics

　　At CIS, athletics are an integral part of our lives. We come together as a community to celebrate the many sporting achievements of our students, whether it be under the Grizzlies banner, or individually. Talent and passion for sports is part of our culture, and CIS is fortunate to have world-class facilities that allows us to host many of these sporting fixtures.

　　Music

　　CIS has a rich history of offering music classes and music options from Pre-school to Grade 12. In Alberta, music is a mandatory part of the curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade Six. During the school year our students have different opportunities to display their musical gifts, such as our Winter Festival, Chinese New Year Celebration, Spring Concert and Wind Orchestra Concerts.

　　我們一直有為學(xué)前至12年級(jí)學(xué)生提供音樂課程的優(yōu)良傳統(tǒng)。在艾伯塔省，音樂也是幼兒園到六年級(jí)的必修課。在每個(gè)學(xué)年里，同學(xué)們有機(jī)會(huì)在冬季音樂節(jié)、春節(jié)慶典、春季音樂會(huì)和管樂隊(duì)演奏會(huì)中展示他們的音樂才華。

　　Fine Arts

　　By creating and appreciating art, we better understand ourselves and the world around us. The CIS art program is continuously expanding. With our two huge art suites, the students are enriched by various art media and self-exploration.

　　Graduating from an Alberta accredited international school means receiving the Alberta High School Diploma that is internationally recognized, which will open doors to further their education and to pursue all their career aspirations. The Canadian diploma is a gateway to studying in top-ranked universities not only in Canada, but also in Europe, Australia, US, Singapore, Hong Kong and even countries like Turkey.

　　CIS welcomes all international families (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to apply for Pre-Kindergarten 2 to Grade 12 (Age 2-18). Students will be interviewed and assessed to ensure that we are able to provide appropriate educational program support. Contact our friendly admissions team for a school tour; we're always happy to answer any of your questions, show you more about CIS, and help you with your application.
